Lecture Reflection - 21 September 2015

Assalamualaikum and good evening,

Intro 

As the class began at 4.30 pm, we were asked about our previous week lesson. The different between PLE and SLE. After a few minutes of lecture, we move on with our focus - the principles of the innovative learning. Dr. Jamaludin gave us a task on about the principle and we have to complete them in our e-learning forum. Once it done, we move on by discussion among our classmate. The discussion is about 7 principles of innovative learning. At the end of the class, Dr. Jamaludin explain about our first assignment.

Activities

For the PLE and SLE, there were an open discussion. For the principle of innovative learning, we need to refer the information on internet and we have to fill the answer in E-learning Forum.  For the 7 Principles of innovative learning, we are divided in to group of alphabet and having discussion among us. Once it finish, we will back to a group of number to explain with our mates. This activity was under constructivism theory - cooperative - jigsaw.

Reflection

* What i learnt is there are 7 principles of innovative learning :-
- learner at the center
- Social nature of learning
- Emotion are integral with learner
- Recognize student differences
- Stretching all student
- Assessment for learning
- Building horizontal connection

* Learner at the center
   - Student center activities which concentrate on development of cognitive and social.  Its allow student to construct learning through engagement and active exploration.

* Social nature of learning
- Cooperative method work for all type of student. They push learner all abilities.

* Emotion are integral with learning
- Learning result from the dynamic interplay of emotion, motivation and cognition, and these are inextricably intertwined.

* Recognize student differences
- Learning environment need  the adaptability to reflect these individual and patterned differences in ways that are sustainable both for the individual learner and for the work of the group as a whole.

* Stretching All Student
- Teacher need to be sensitive to every student differences. Student need to do homework and task but it is not to many. If student given many homework, they will be bored and they will not happy to learn.

* Assessment for Learning
- Student need to know what they learn on that day. Teacher need to full fill today's objective as they plan. If the objective is far away from actual objective, student will be bored and less motivated.

* Building Horizontal Connection
- Student need to  apply what they learn from formal learning environment to the wider environment.

* All these principles are important to create a new innovative learning environment. If teacher can follow those principles, the environment of learning will be more interesting and happy.
